Illumination and backlighting can be used effectively both day and night. Modern LED lighting is popular for signage; 3D fabricated letters and graphics can be backlit from behind, lightboxes illuminated with even colour and opaque signs and profile cut elements can be highlighted from behind giving an eye catching halo effect. We can advise on council requirements and use certified electricians for all wiring installations.

Digital imaging for illuminated graphics

We print graphics for interior and exterior applications. Printing stunning graphics for backlit signage is quite a science. Illuminated images should have vivid colour and dark shadows. We have processes and manufacturing techniques to cater for all light-box applications, whether they be for a lightbox that is mostly on, off or a mixture of both.

Considerations have to be made for light-boxes illuminated only at night. Images that are turned off through the day have to look natural, but at night still need to be vivid while illuminated. For large exterior signage, we can print on both sides of flexiface banner to ensure your image looks great night and day. For internal light-boxes we print using a technique that offers the same result, but is on a rigid panel or changeable film. For permanently lit light-boxes we print using extra amounts of ink so the image is full of life when it's under illumination. We have high tech equipment specifically designed to measure and ensure back-lit graphics are the exact colour they're supposed to be. 

Types of printed backlit material

Polyester film

This is a thin non-adhesive film best suited for light-boxes which sandwich the print between acrylic sheets. Available in white and clear.

Self adhesive vinyl

A flexible vinyl with a clear adhesive base ideal for adhering to acrylic and glass panels. Available in white and clear.

Flexiface banner

This strong banner is for large interior or exterior displays up to 3m wide by required length and stretches on a frame.

Direct printing

Substrates such as acrylic panels are direct printed to provide vibrant images. Available in opal and clear.

Fabric

Textiles produce vibrant images with an upmarket look. These fit into low profile stretch frames.
